Ryuma Matsubara
Postdoctoral Researcher
Short Bio
Ryuma joined Dr. Kirino’s lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in mid 2017. His research interests include non-cording RNAs, especially tRNA and its fragment as a regulatory molecule in translation and beyond. He received Ph.D. from the University of Tsukuba in Japan, where he investigated the pathogenesis regulation of the protozoan parasites Plasmodium spp. (malaria parasite) and Toxoplasma gondii in vivo (animal models) and in vitro (sub-cellular level). He also has a background in molecular phylogeny and epidemiology.
